About the event

On October 7th 2023, Israel faced a tragedy that would forever be engraved in the hearts of both Israelis and the Jewish community world-wide. In honor of the one-year anniversary of this tragic event, we've partnered with Studio Patuach to offer a free art therapy session at Chabad Islington. This is a safe space for our community to express their feelings and heal together.

Studio Patuach which is the Hebrew term for Open Studio uses a therapeurtic community model which allows the participants to use art as a way to express difficult feelings. This approach, inspired by the Second World War practice of artists working with psychiatric patients, using art as a tool for expressing emotions and fostering healing. The session will be hosted by art therapists Yafit Nahari and Simona Rotman Shats, who are Israeli but based in the UK. The session will be conducted in both Hebrew and English (participants can decide in which language they prefer to express themselves) and art materials will be provided.

We will begin at 7:00 PM with some refreshments and will begin promptly at 7:30 PM with the session. Your timely arrival will help us maintain a respectful environment for all participants.
