If there ever was a time to show dedication to community festivals, this was the year. Between the downpour, park mudpie and World Cup extra-time, 250 people celebrated Chanukah on Islington Green with hearts full of joy and song.
A massive thank you to Islington Council for supporting the event via the Local Initiatives Fund, and Madam Mayor and Leader of Islington Council for their Chanukah greetings.
Hot Chocolate, Potato Latkes and doughnuts were enjoyed by one and all. Klezmer music entertained the crowd with ‘Sweet Chanukah’ (an original of Rabbi Mendy, adaptation of Sweet Caroline) once again sung in full gusto. Dan Magness freestyle football tricks wowed the participants.
Event concluded with a free raffle with prizes provided by Arsenal in the Community.
