Adaya Pilo was born in Tel Aviv, Israel. Her professional artistic journey began at the Cameri Theater in the stage decoration department, where she experimented with various materials and painted large-scale backdrops. She later studied at the Art Teachers College in Ramat Hasharon, Israel. She established an independent studio in her home area of Tel Aviv. Over the years, her work evolved, ranging from creating textured sand works on canvas to producing acrylic and oil paintings in a modern style. The sea has always been a profound influence in Adaya’s life. Its presence, coupled with Tel Aviv’s proximity to the Mediterranean, is a recurring theme in her works. Adaya perceives beauty as a manifestation of goodness and strives to convey this in her art. Some of her paintings are created by imagination, others working with a model and through the use of photographs. Biblical stories hold a special place in Adaya’s art, serving as inspiration. These narratives are often subtly embedded within her paintings through symbolic objects, such as in depictions of Absalom and Tamar (Pansy), Elijah and the Widow of Zarephath, and her piece on Bread and Salt. Adaya’s works are part of collections in Israel and abroad. She pursued further studies at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. In addition to her visual art, she has created several documentary films, which she filmed, edited, and produced.
Pinchos Bensusan is an artist and cartographer living in London. He has always had a fascination for maps, draughtsmanship and painting from his youth, using his imagination to “create” topographic maps and 2D terrain images. With the help of the Almighty, he has been most fortunate to have worked as a Cartographer and C.A.D. Operator, with Mapping / Land Surveying / Drawing Office experience of over 30 years. He also painted during his youth and spent a year in London's Camberwell School of Art and Craft. He has combined the two disciplines of cartography / topography and oil painting. The work encompasses both Landscapes and portraiture. His work is figurative; strong in form and space and natural colour.
